The working title was "LoopZoop," because the entire song was built around one looping hook. I've been working on this song the longest, but eventually got fed up with tweaking it and just wanted to put it out there.
lyrics
There were times our eyes were dry
We saw with hearts and minds unclouded
And the world seemed brighter when we still knew how to trust
Over time the world grew dark
And in my mind a storm was brewing
But to you, is the world as dark as it looks to me?
The sky, the rain, the dark
“Forgive” may be too strong a word
For what I’ve done to you
These moments are the ones we will carry in our hearts
For the rest of our lives
I know that I should not pass judgment, and
I shall not cast the first stone
But how can you say that you have never thrown your own?
You set me upon this pyre
Your words, the torch that lit the fire, and
The smoke that you have made now lives among the clouds
The wood, the flame, the pain
“Forgive” may be too strong a word
For what I’ve done to you
These moments are the ones we will carry in our hearts
For the rest of our lives
The dew, the ash, the grave
“Forgive” may be too strong a word
For what I’ve done to you
These moments are the ones we will carry in our hearts
For the rest of our lives
